Ayurvedic supportive care alongside oncology

Supportive Ayurvedic care that works with your oncology team

Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery take a lot out of a person, and out of the family around them. We help with appetite, sleep, digestion, energy and comfort. Your oncologist stays in charge of your treatment. We work alongside them.

  • Appetite and nausea support
  • Sleep, tiredness and worry
  • Diet (Pathya) for the family cook
  • Coordinated with your oncologist

Working with your oncologist

You continue under your oncologist. Our Ayurvedic care is coordinated with, and subject to, your treating oncology team.

Never start any Ayurvedic Medicine during chemotherapy or radiation without your oncologist and our doctor reviewing it together.

About CANCER AYU CARE

Ayurvedic supportive care in Pune, alongside oncology

CANCER AYU CARE is the supportive-care service of AMRUT AYU CARE™, an Ayurvedic clinic and Panchakarma centre in Pune run by Dr. Prashant Amrutkar and Dr. Amruta Amrutkar.

A Sunday support clinic sees people during chemotherapy, radiation and recovery, by appointment, alongside their oncologist. We never ask anyone to stop, delay or reduce the treatment their oncology team has planned.

Support pillars

How we help, during and after treatment

During chemotherapy and radiation

Support for appetite, nausea, tiredness, sleep, mouth care and digestion, planned around your treatment days.

Diet (Pathya)

Pathya means a suitable diet. Simple Indian and Maharashtrian home meals for low appetite and a sensitive stomach.

Daily routine (Dinacharya)

Dinacharya means daily routine. Gentle habits for rest, sleep and steady energy, cleared by your treating team.

Strength in recovery (Rasayana)

Rasayana means rejuvenation care. Rebuilding strength and appetite once active treatment ends.

Life after treatment

Weight, energy, sleep, and the worry that often stays. Steady, long-term support.

Comfort care

Quality of life alongside your palliative care team: sleep, appetite, and calm for the whole family.

Who comes to us

  • People in treatment who want help with side effects, alongside chemotherapy, radiation, surgery or other therapy.
  • Caregivers and family, often the person who cooks, drives, and sits up at night. For caregivers
  • People who have finished treatment and want to rebuild strength and routine.
  • Families in comfort care, alongside their palliative team.

How it works

  1. Share your oncology plan. Bring your current treatment plan and medicine list to the first consultation.
  2. We plan around your treatment. Our doctor plans support around your treatment schedule, with your oncology team in mind.
  3. Ayurvedic Medicine only after review. Nothing new starts during chemotherapy or radiation until your oncologist and our doctor review it together.
  4. Food, routine and comfort. Most support begins with diet, daily routine and comfort measures.
  5. Your oncologist stays informed. You remain under your oncologist throughout.

A new lump, unexplained bleeding or weight loss, persistent pain, breathlessness, or fever during chemotherapy needs your oncologist or emergency care first.

When to call your oncologist first

Common questions

Does Ayurveda cure cancer?

No. Ayurvedic supportive care focuses on comfort, appetite, sleep, digestion and strength while your oncology team treats the cancer.

Do I need to stop or delay chemotherapy or radiation?

No. Please continue the treatment your oncologist has planned. Supportive care works alongside it, never in place of it.

Will you take Ayurvedic Medicine alongside my chemotherapy?

Only after your oncologist and our doctor review it together. Many people start with diet and routine support alone.

Do you work with my oncologist?

Yes. You continue under your oncologist, and our care is coordinated with, and subject to, your treating oncology team.

What does a consultation cost?

Fees on request. We do not run offers or discounts on cancer support.
